Hi, I’m Corey Redd, a product manager here at Leverege. When I first stumbled upon Leverege, I was looking for more than just a job. I wanted autonomy, a culture where my voice mattered, and a fast-paced environment where I could truly make an impact. Now, a couple years into my journey at Leverege, I can confidently say I found all of that, and more. What started as a leap into startup life has grown into a role where I’m helping shape cutting-edge computer vision solutions, surrounded by some of the most curious, kind, and talented people I’ve ever met.

From Big Tech to Startup Life

My journey started at the University of Cincinnati, where I studied computer engineering. During college, I had the chance to explore different roles through a co-op program, working at fintech, media, and SaaS companies. At SiriusXM, I helped build out the Pandora mobile app after their acquisition. Then at SurveyMonkey, I worked on redesigning the homepage to drive user engagement. These experiences were invaluable, but they also came with a realization: I wanted to work somewhere smaller and more agile.

At large corporations, decision-making often felt slow and bureaucratic. For every small choice, you had to check with three different people. I wanted to be in a place where I could make decisions, own my work, and truly see the impact of what I was doing. That’s what drew me to Leverege.

Making the Leap to Leverege

I found Leverege on LinkedIn while searching for a fully remote role that would allow me to move closer to family. The interview process was very rigorous, which actually excited me -it showed me that Leverege cared deeply about who they brought on board. From my very first conversations, I could tell this was a company where people mattered, where ideas were taken seriously, and where I’d be challenged to grow.

When I joined, I started as a project manager, working on a smart boating application. It was a crash course in customer-facing work - something I hadn’t done much of before. I had to quickly learn how to present to external stakeholders, anticipate their needs, and navigate complex technical discussions. It was overwhelming at times, but it was also incredibly rewarding.

From Boating Apps to Computer Vision: My Evolution at Leverege

Since those early days, my role at Leverege has grown in ways I couldn’t have predicted. I transitioned from project management into product management, and now I’m focused on our computer vision solutions - think AI-powered cameras helping manufacturers track production cycles or optimizing service bay intelligence for automotive service centers. “It’s been its own drinking from the fire hose,” as I like to say, but that’s what keeps it exciting.

One experience that really stands out was collaborating with a manufacturing customer who builds windmill blades. We harnessed computer vision to monitor cycle times, track headcounts, and boost process efficiency, unlocking insights they’d never accessed before. “The most rewarding part has been delivering it,” I shared with a teammate not long ago. After countless late nights and early mornings, hearing the customer say, “This is incredible,” made every second worthwhile. That “wow, we actually pulled this off” moment is exactly why I’m hooked on what I do at Leverege.

A Day in Leverege Life

My days at Leverege are a blend of brainstorming with engineers and designers, diving deep into customer challenges, and occasionally carving out a few hours to tinker on something that might make a difference for our clients. “I really love snagging four meeting-free hours on a Friday afternoon,” I’ve caught myself saying more than once. It’s my sweet spot for experimenting, like mocking up a quick dashboard to visualize customer data, and watching it take shape in real time.

What I cherish most at Leverege is the freedom to own my time. With our remote-first setup, I can swap a commute for a 2 p.m. dog walk or lean into my peak focus hours after dinner. You’re accountable for getting your stuff done, I’ve realized, but if you hit your stride in the evening, no one’s stopping you. Combine that with our knack for asynchronous collaboration keeps us connected without constant calls, and it’s a setup that lets me thrive.

A Culture That Fuels Growth

Leverege’s culture is hard to pin down in one word, but if I had to, I’d say it’s “egoless.” It doesn’t matter if you started yesterday and you’re an associate or you started nine years ago and you’re the CPO. If you have a good idea, people listen - especially if you back it up with data or a customer insight. That took some getting used to, coming from big corporations where I wasn’t always sure my voice mattered. One of the hardest things for me was adjusting to trusting my voice, but now that I’ve hit my stride, it’s empowering to know I can steer my team or product in new directions.

Beyond that, the people here are what make Leverege special. A few months back, I went through a tough family situation, and the support I got was next-level. Not only from my direct managers, but all the way from both of our co-founders. I was blown away by how they reached out, checked in, and gave me space to handle it. That kind of kindness isn’t something you find everywhere.

Why Leverege Might Be Your Next Adventure

Looking ahead, I’m excited to see where our computer vision work takes us - building a platform that can tackle any customer problem in this space feels like the next big leap, and I’m thrilled to be part of it. If you’re reading this and wondering if Leverege could be your fit, here’s my take: if you’re someone who loves having the space to have your own ideas and hypothesis and ideas about how to build cool technology, this might be your place. Bring curiosity, leave your ego at the door, and be ready to own your work—especially in a remote setup. There’s no one watching you or telling you what to do, I’ve learned, so you really have to own that autonomy. If that sounds like your speed, I’d say give Leverege a serious look—it’s been a game-changer for me.
