I’ve worked at huge corporations, launched my own startup, and now found my sweet spot at Leverege. In this post, I share what makes this team so special - from true transparency to meaningful autonomy. It’s the first place I’ve felt fully myself, and fully supported.
I’ve spent my career exploring different work environments, from massive corporations to scrappy startups to running my own business. Each experience taught me something new about what I wanted (and didn’t want) in a workplace.
I started out studying mechanical engineering and sociology at the University of Notre Dame, and during college, I took the traditional big-company route with internships at General Electric. While I gained valuable experience, I quickly realized the rigid structure and bureaucracy weren’t for me. I wanted a workplace that was dynamic, fast-moving, and where I had the agency to make a real impact.
That led me to Venture for America, where I was introduced to the startup world and joined Beam Benefits, a dental insurance startup in Columbus, Ohio. When I started, I was the first customer service rep and one of only eight employees. By the time I left, the company had grown to 300 people, and I had worked my way up to overseeing member experience.
After Beam, I took the plunge into entrepreneurship, launching my own startup designing sports bras for busty athletes - something I was deeply passionate about. But after three years of solo work, I realized I missed being part of a team. I wanted an environment where I could collaborate, learn, and grow with others who were just as invested in the work as I was. That’s when I found Leverege.
I had been through the highs and lows of VC-backed startups, experiencing the thrill of rapid growth but also the instability and uncertainty it can bring. I wanted something different this time - a company with a strong foundation, thoughtful growth, and a culture that valued its people.
From my first conversations with Leverege, I could tell this was a company that prioritized sustainable growth and internal talent development. It wasn’t a place where people burned out after a year or two, it was a place where employees stayed and grew in their careers. That spoke volumes to me.
One of the things that solidified my decision to join was the openness and transparency in leadership. In previous roles, I had experienced environments where feedback and performance evaluations were shrouded in secrecy, where you never quite knew where you stood. At Leverege, it is the complete opposite. My manager is clear, honest, and supportive, giving me the confidence and security to thrive. That kind of transparency is rare, and it’s something I truly appreciate here.
At Leverege, I focus on customer experience, particularly for our AutoTrace product, which helps car dealerships manage vehicle inventory. When I started, I had to learn an entirely new industry and carve out my role, figuring out where I could add the most value. Now, I spend my days responding to customer inquiries, identifying trends, and working closely with our product and engineering teams to improve our offerings.
What I love most about my role is the problem-solving aspect. Customer feedback isn’t just about answering questions, it’s about uncovering opportunities to make our products better. Every issue a customer raises is a chance to improve, and I get to be the bridge between their needs and our product development. It’s incredibly rewarding.
Another huge plus? The remote work culture at Leverege. I live in Cleveland, close to my family, and I love that I can have a fulfilling career without having to relocate. Remote work here isn’t just an afterthought, it’s something we actively discuss and refine to ensure everyone feels connected and supported. Our in-person meetups and weekly town hall meetings with everyone in the company help reinforce that sense of community, making remote work feel just as engaging as an in-office environment.
Leverege is full of brilliant, driven, and genuinely kind people. I’ve worked at places where coworkers just clock in and out, and I’ve worked at places where people are so obsessed with their jobs that they sacrifice everything else. Leverege strikes the perfect balance - everyone cares deeply about their work, but they’re also well-rounded people with interests and passions outside of work.
One of the most meaningful aspects of joining Leverege has been the inclusivity and acceptance I’ve felt here. In past roles, I didn’t always feel comfortable being open about my personal life. At Leverege, I never had to worry. Bringing my girlfriend to company meetups felt completely natural, and I know I’m part of a team where diversity is not just accepted but embraced. That’s something that means a lot to me.
For anyone considering joining Leverege, I’d say this: If you’re curious, love learning, and want to work with people who genuinely care, both about the work and each other. this is the place for you.
